1st Annual Oceanport Mini-Golf Tournament

The Oceanport Parks and Recreation Committee hosted the 1st Annual Oceanport Mini-Golf Tournament on Saturday April 20th. The tournament was held at and sponsored by BlueGrass Mini Golf at Monmouth Park. The tournament was a free event open to all Oceanport Residents from kindergarten to adults. There were over 150 rounds on miniature golf played during the day with the Championship round starting at 4:00 for the lowest 8 players per age group.

The 2013 Champions are as follows:

Wolf Hill

1st Place - S. O'Brien, 2nd Place - S. Newbert, 3rd Place - G. Barfield

Maple Place

1st Place - K. Hayes, 2nd Place - G. Goldsmith, 3rd Place - J. Turner

High School

1st Place - C. Wilbanks, 2nd Place - N. Kessler, 3rd Place - C. Abade

Adults

1st Place - T. Barfield, 2nd Place - G. Brignola, 3rd Place - B. MacRae

Mr. Barfield had two outstanding rounds shooting even par 40 in the qualifying round and a 41 to win the Championship. It was later discovered that he has a putting mat in his basement and has been practicing every day for the past 2 months.

The Parks and Recreation Committee would like to thank Mr. John Forbes the owner of BlueGrass Mini Golf for sponsoring the event. The Committee would encourage all Oceanport Residents to support BlueGrass Mini-Golf through out the year.

The operating hours for BlueGrass Mini-Golf is as follows:

Spring Hours (April 27 - May 31)
Sunday - Thursday 10 am - 8 pm Friday & Saturday 10 am - 9 pm

Summer Hours (June 1 - September 15)
Sunday - Thursday 10 am - 10 pm Friday & Saturday 10 am - 11 pm

Fall Hours (September 16 -October 16)
Sunday - Thursday 10 am - 8 pm Friday & Saturday 10 am - 9 pm
